Joey Proffitt is the founder and owner of the Joey Proffitt Agency, Inc., a rapidly growing property and casualty insurance agency based in East Tennessee. After spending seven years with a leading P&C company, Joey launched his own agency in 2021 with a mission to provide transparent guidance, personal service, and long-term protection for families and local businesses.

Before entering the insurance industry, Joey served nine years as a police officer with the Elizabethton Police Department, including time as a K-9 handler. His background in public service shaped his commitment to honesty, accountability, and putting people first—values that continue to define his approach to insurance today.

Joey is a graduate of Milligan College and has been self-employed since 2014, including experience in banking, investments, and Medicare products. Now in his fourth year of agency ownership, he continues to expand his team and invest in the community he grew up in.

A proud Elizabethton native, Joey is passionate about helping families protect what matters most and giving back to the place he has always called home.
